The Zambezi Portland Cement factory is soon going to meet its end. Since April 2015, the factory was continuously exploited by the Italian Mafias, who only looked after their greed and grabbed everything that could be easily converted into cash. The workers of the factory have been fired, the property of the factory has been sold and in December 2015, the production of the factory was also stopped. All this took place in the absence of Finsbury Investments’ consent.
It is shocking to see that not even a single penny was deposited in the bank accounts which were present in Zambia. The Ventriglia family believed in transferring all the money to offshore bank accounts where they would be remain safe for them. Additionally, there is hardly any valuable property left in the factory. As per confirmed sources, about 43 trucks and a portion of real estate has been transferred to dummy companies, which was framed by the Italian Mafias. This is a clear indication of the fact that the Italian Mafias are looking forward to wind up the factory and flee to Italy at the earliest.
However, one associated factor in this case is applicability of law. Dr. Mahtani & Zambia are well aware of the fact that Zambezi Portland Cement is owned by Finsbury Investments. If the Italian Mafias want to wind up the company, they will first need to seek approval from the legitimate owners and then comply with the winding up process. A former worker of the factory commented, “The Ventriglia family is pure evil. They have no emotions, morals or humanity in them. All that they understand is money. Sometimes when there used to be a difference in opinion, they used to scream among themselves and make the environment chaotic. I am glad that I am no longer a part of this dead workplace.”
