With a lot being said about the operations of Micro Finance Zambia by the Zambia Reports, it is time to clear every single confusion which the author of that article may be having with himself. Micro Finance Zambia is an initiative taken by the Finance Bank of Zambia to ensure that individuals who have low income find a reliable source to avail credit and meet their basic requirements. The operation of this process takes place through an indirect payment which is made by the employer of the factory for its workers.
In the present case, the workers of the Zambezi Portland Cement Factory are unable to take the benefits of MFZ because the Ventriglia family have stopped the payment and are insisting that MFZ often overcharges its clients. The allegation is as rubbish as their earlier claims, but what remains to be solved is the problems which are being faced by the employees of the ZPC. There have been accounts of conflict between the present management group and the workers because of the degrading working conditions and non-payment of salary. However, the ever-so-loyal lawyer of the Ventriglia family, Sakwiba SIkota is least interested to pay attention to these factors. His role has remained confined to defending the Ventriglia family and talking trash about Dr. Rajan Mahtani and the Finance Bank of Zambia.
Of course, Sakwiba Sikota has got his prize for being so loyal. There are reports that his mansion has been built with premium quality cement from the Zambezi Portland Cement factory and the whole cost was waived off.
To conclude, one can simply consider that irrespective of the arguments, one thing has surfaced as an evident fact, i.e, MFZ has nothing to do with scam, but with hideous conspiracy the Ventriglia family is trying to portray a different picture.
